President's Speech

I think the U.S. and the world were glued to the television last night for our President's speech. It was a powerful speech bringing hope for all of us in a time of depression. Our President is an exceptional speaker. That in itself keeps us focused, not just because of our country's situation. We all must pray as a nation for our President and his cabinet. Pray for them to have the wisdom and ability to bring change and help to our once prosperous land of opportunity.

Quote of the day

DO WHAT YOU LOVE.

A Sad Goodbye

Recently, I found out that Home Companion Magazine was closing their publication. Their last issue was in December 2008. I had the pleasure of working with the magazine and Editor Barbara Martin for a number of years. So my fond memories I keep. All the best to Mary, Barbara and staff. Thanks for letting me be a part of an artistically spirited publication!

Beach House Elegance

A client's home in the quaint town of Corona del Mar. The lifestyle setting came together from an ocean-inspired color palatte of sea glass, sand, and driftwood. English down-filled sofas, sea glass velvet tufted chairs, vintage-inspired pillows with elegant trim and antiqued mirrored tables fill the space. Accessories include hand-finished wood plaques, mercury glass lamps with printed silk shades and polished shell topped vintage bottles. Underfoot is an antique Persian rug atop ebony stained wood floors. The setting is soft, romantic and comfortable beach elegance!

QUOTE OF THE DAY

SHAPE THE FUTURE.- Idealists, foolish enough to throw caution to the winds, have advanced mankind and have enriched the world.- Emma Goldman, author

Bringing outside elements in!

Outside elements work well inside. Whether it be a rustic fountain with relaxing sounds of trickling water or large iron and glass Moroccan lanterns. Over-sized contemporary glazed pottery is filled with moss-covered spheres. Even an animal print ottoman fits in.

Glass Mosaic Tiles - The Eye Candy In The Bath

Beautiful ocean-inspired blues create the focus or "Eye Candy" for this bathroom. The tiles are crackled glass and glass mosaics. A delicate mother of pearl capiz shell mirror is set above a porcelain sink with a brushed nickel stand. A classic Cape Cod look or a sleek contemporary look. Both styles come into play here. Drop a capiz shell chandelier from above and the look is complete! Find these tiles and more glass tile designs at http://www.zunigainteriors.com/

Moroccan Style

Moroccan-inspired space gets a splash of color in Spicy Hue by Sherwin Williams. A French vintage chandelier floats above. One wall displays a collection of crosses; hand-finished tin crosses by a local artist and hand-painted cross plaques created by a Santa Fe artist. A custom iron daybed designed by Zuniga Interiors is complimented with a quilted cushion and pillows made from a hand-blocked fabric line, Les Indiennes from India. Tables are Moroccan, artistically made with inlaid painted wood and bone. This works for a sitting room, guest room or in many other spaces.
